It's Go Time!

Well, here I am TRYING again. I gained 10lbs over the time of this Pandemic. It's due to snacking that I was not doing before, whether it be boredom, stress, or frustration. It's due to eating more bread and carbs than I was before (Easter didn't help with the chocolate we bought). And it's also probably some water weight (I hope) from too much sodium that I wasn't eating before. Are you in the same boat as me? I mean, I'm just frustrated, SO FRUSTRATED. And I snack. BUT, the good news is, taking back control this past week, I lost 2 lbs of that 10. I eat healthy and smart Monday through Thursday. I let myself enjoy food Friday and Saturday, and sometimes Sunday. Then I get back at it. So that's where I'm at again. But that works for me, because it gives me something to look forward to. And have you ever eaten until you thought you were going to pop? Yeah, me too. But I don't do that anymore. (as much as I may want to sometimes) I refus...

I feel like I'm starting over all the time

I've lost track of how many times I have "started over" during this Pandemic. It feels like weekly. Are you feeling this too? Is it as tough for you as it is me? I feel like I've eaten more carbs in the last month than I have in the last year. A healthy lifestyle has to be a new way of living. I used to hang on for the weekends and eat my carbs or chocolate then. I stopped that when the Stay At Home Order started and some food was hard to find. I used it as an excuse. An excuse to eat food I knew I shouldn't. Today I have no motivation for you. If you're motivated please feel free to share - I am all ears. But, I haven't given up. I didn't like the number that I saw on the scale, so I'm working to change it. I am the only one that can change it. Today's goal? Drink my water and careful of the carbs. Snack on fruit - not crackers. And have my shake for lunch. One day at a time.

Stop right there! Drop the snack!

Well, the first two weeks of this mess, I've been stress eating, and emotional eating, and eating because I was not necessarily bored but not able to go out anywhere. Oh, the snacks that we had in the house...these were things we hadn't bought in a couple years! Yeah, we might buy ONE Hostess Cupcake package and split it, but this time we bought a big ol' box from Sam's Club! (so bad....) I only ate two...packages. And I gained a few pounds too. Could've been water weight, but I don't care, I don't want to see the pounds increasing! My face does look puffy and I hate that. I was finally getting more of a heart shape to my chubby face and I was so proud of that. So...I need to get back to where I was. I can't let this madness win! So this week I took back my control. I limited my portions. I still had a dessert, and a few days I still had a little bag of chips (we bought WISE chips this time, and I was surprised to see how few ingredients they have. I...

Those quarantine snacking memes are not wrong...sadly

Seriously folks... we are in this for another month! I am struggling. I'm putting that out there. You are not alone in the snack struggle. And due to being in this for another month, I think I'm going to have to make a better snack list for the husband. When we buy snacks, we are typically hungry, and bad things happen! I looked in the mirror last night and my face is puffy! PUFFY! Ugh... But the good news is, I just finished my protein shake and am ready to start making next week's snack list. And honestly, everyone freaked out that first week acting like everything would be shut down and we would all be locked indoors, that we grabbed every nonperishable thing we could find. And we've been eating them. We didn't buy fruits and veggies since we were under the impression that this was it, before the weekend was over, there would be no weekly shopping trips. And yet there is! I'm going to buy some fresh fruits and veggies today, and we actually found...
