Are you the Turtle or the Rabbit?

I'm the Turtle. Slow and steady wins the race... Lately I really feel like one! Since March. I admit, I got lazy - and I liked it! Who doesn't like sitting? A lot. But as you can see from my posts, I started to watch what I was eating again. Adding lots of veggies and watching my portions. I never gave up, I just got lazy. It was easier. But it was time to get back into it. And... It's working. :) Down 2 more pounds. - Go Me! - It makes me WANT to see those numbers drop on the scale each week. It makes me look forward to weigh in day. Strange, right? So, I gave myself a modified goal. I decided that once I reach my total weight loss goal, I will reward myself with a new tattoo that I not only want, but will remind me every day to never give up on being healthy. It's going to take me about a year, give or take a few months, to reach at my slow-and-steady-pace but it will be worth it. And will give me plenty of time to design the tattoo and save up for...

It's Go Time!

Well, here I am TRYING again. I gained 10lbs over the time of this Pandemic. It's due to snacking that I was not doing before, whether it be boredom, stress, or frustration. It's due to eating more bread and carbs than I was before (Easter didn't help with the chocolate we bought). And it's also probably some water weight (I hope) from too much sodium that I wasn't eating before. Are you in the same boat as me? I mean, I'm just frustrated, SO FRUSTRATED. And I snack. BUT, the good news is, taking back control this past week, I lost 2 lbs of that 10. I eat healthy and smart Monday through Thursday. I let myself enjoy food Friday and Saturday, and sometimes Sunday. Then I get back at it. So that's where I'm at again. But that works for me, because it gives me something to look forward to. And have you ever eaten until you thought you were going to pop? Yeah, me too. But I don't do that anymore. (as much as I may want to sometimes) I refus...

Made it to the weekend - whew!

It's Friday! Woot!! After consuming too many carbs during the Superbowl, I decided this week I would cut the carbs, and look to the weekend. Limit my carbs during the week, then eat some of my cravings on the weekends. This was the wrong week to do that, lol... PMS week! It was rough. I was lucky that there was no chocolate in the house, and I was too lazy to go out to buy any. Because if it was here, I surely would've eaten it! I felt like I was depriving myself of all that I so desperately wanted to eat. (I felt as dramatic as that sentence sounded, lol) and it was only 4 days!! haha! But I drank my water, I tried to stay within my calories, and I ate chicken and veggies - NO STARCHES - for those four days. I still had my half of a bagel in the morning. And I was praying that after all that I actually lost weight this week, seeing as how it is pms week and I typically gain lots of water weight. I had my Burton Nutrition vanilla protein shakes for lunch. I usually go...

Friday Win

This week I got back on track with my healthy lifestyle. I kept my calories in check, I drank my water, and I got in 4k-5k steps daily. And it felt great. Today was the pay off - weigh in day. I dropped 4lbs from last week - granted, about half of that was water weight. But it helps me want to keep going. Oh, did I mention my husband brought home sprinkle thumbprint cookies from the grocery store bakery yesterday??? My kryptonite...my nemisis... whatever you want to call it. I LOVE thumbprint cookies - heck, you might as well have put a cupcake in front of me. But, today was weigh in day, and I didn't want that lump of sugar (even though I did look up the calorie count of one cookie...I really did) to define my work for the week. Maybe tonight I will have ONE.

Friday Weigh In

How's your week going? Friday is always my weigh in day, and the past few months it has been a consistent up and down, but I've been keeping off what I lost so far (even if I gain a few, I drop it again). I still look forward to Friday weigh in like a kid looks forward to Christmas. Is that weird? I like seeing my hard work pay off, and it helps me keep going. But this week I am in the middle of a gentle cleanse, and trying my best to be good. And it's paying off. I hit 35lbs lost this week! It has taken longer than I had hoped, but I am not discouraged. This is a lifestyle change, so it's not like in two years I'm just done...so if it takes three years, or even four to hit my ultimate goal, then that's what it takes. But I refuse to give up. With Easter right around the corner, we'll get enough chocolate from both parents house to let us have a little treat, so my Target basket is already filled with Protein bars, and low cal snack...
